The Minden REC will offer a free week of beginner swimming lessons to youth residents of the City of Minden as part of a six-week summer program.
The lessons, which run from the end of May through mid-July, are available for children ages 5 to 12. The first week of lessons will be free for city residents.
“The City Council, the Minden Recreation Department, and I are committed to ensuring every child’s safety and confidence in the water. By teaching our kids to swim, we are building a stronger, safer community. That’s why, this year, we’re proud to offer free swimming lessons to all Minden resident children ages 5–12,” Mayor Nick Cox said.
The REC also offers intermediate- and advanced-level lessons, though these are not included in this special offer.
Registration for the program opens May 27. For more information, visit MindenREC.org or call (318) 371-4235.
