Minden native and NFL cornerback L’Jarius Sneed is headed back to familiar territory.
According to multiple reports Monday, the Kansas City Chiefs are bringing Sneed back on a one-year contract, returning the former Super Bowl champion to the organization that selected him in the fourth round of the 2020 NFL Draft. The deal is reportedly worth up to $5 million.
Sneed spent his first four NFL seasons with Kansas City, helping the Chiefs win consecutive Super Bowls before being traded to the Tennessee Titans in 2024. After two injury-plagued seasons in Tennessee, Sneed was released by the Titans in March and became a free agent.
The former Minden High School and Louisiana Tech standout has remained active in his hometown during the offseason through youth football camps, health initiatives, and community events organized through the Sneed Reach 1 Foundation.
