Miss Minden plans ‘Dance Party’

Special to the Minden Press-Herald

Are you looking for a chance to get in some last minute Christmas shopping, wrap your presents, or just relax for a few hours amongst all the hustle and bustle this time of year? Then this event is for you!

Miss Minden, Sharity Brent, will be having a “Christmas Dance Party” on Saturday, December 22nd, at the First Baptist Church in Minden from 1-5:00PM for children and teens ages 4 and up.

You can go to http://www.missamericaforkids.org/contestant/sharitybrent to sign your child/children up.

When asked why she wanted to have this event, Miss Minden said, “I have grown up dancing in this town with the Wise Dancenter, the Webster PepSteppers, and the MHS Louisi-Annes, so I thought this would be a fun way for me to give back to my community”.”

Brent is holding this event to raise money for the Children’s Miracle Network. The Children’s Miracle Network is a non-profit organization that raises funds for children’s hospitals, medical research, and community awareness of children’s health issues, much like St. Jude. By giving to this event, you will be helping to touch the lives of sick and injured kids around our community. Our closest Children’s Miracle Network Hospital is in Shreveport. There is another event, “Merry Grinchmas”, being held at the First United Methodist Church in Minden on Friday, December 21st, from 6-9:00PM, which is being held by Miss Heart of Trenton’s Outstanding Teen, Gracie Sivils. Cash and checks will be accepted at both events, but pre-registration is preferred. Please take advantage of both of these amazing opportunities to let your kids have some fun, take a break for yourself, and also support the Children’s Miracle Network.
