The Webster Parish School Board approved a number of work requests for making improvements to schools during the scheduled monthly meeting on Monday.
The District 6 ½ Cent Sales Tax Fund will pay for the following work: E.S. Richardson Elementary will upgrade some older model security cameras and relocate two servers; Phillips Elementary will have 51 new mortise locks installed by A & A Building Specialties; Mechanical Concepts will be replacing one Daikin compressor and inverter board at Webster Jr. High; Homeland Safety System will be upgrading the CMS video monitoring system for the SRO office at Minden High; Johnson Controls will be replacing the IGST board on Boiler #3 at Minden High; and Mechanical Cooling Services will be replacing seven variable frequency drives on the HVAC system at Webster Jr. High.
The Shongaloo Building Fund will be paying Mechanical Cooling Services to replace a thermo-couple in the boiler at North Webster Lower Elementary.
The Consolidated 3 Maintenance Fund will be used at Lakeside Jr/Sr High to replace damaged toilets in the public restrooms, and it will also pay Turf and Landscape Solutions for yearly turf maintenance.
The Doyline Maintenance Fund will be used to replace the existing sign at the Softball/Baseball Complex, to pay Turf and Landscape Solutions for yearly turf maintenance, to pay Homeland Safety Systems for adding two new cameras to the concession area, and to pay Mechanical Concepts for replacing a condenser fan motor, a control board, a compressor, and an inverter board.
The Webster Parish School Board’s next meeting will be on April 4 at 6 p.m. They meet at the school board office, and the public is welcome to attend.
