With the start of the 2023-24 school year just around the corner, the Webster Parish school district welcomed its newest members with open arms. Last week, the district organized New Teacher Breakfasts as a part of their orientation program for the incoming educators, providing them with a warm and encouraging welcome.
Amidst the chatter of excited conversations and the aroma of freshly brewed coffee, the new teachers indulged in a breakfast specially prepared for them. Ready to embark on their educational journey in Webster Parish, the teachers were then introduced to the intricacies of their new roles.
The orientation covered a range of essential topics, including familiarizing the teachers with the software programs they will be using to record grades, attendance, and other administrative tasks. Additionally, the educators were exposed to differentiated instructional strategies, empowering them to cater to the diverse learning needs of their students. Moreover, they were given insights into effective classroom management techniques to maintain a positive and productive learning environment.
Beyond the informative sessions, the New Teacher Breakfasts provided a unique opportunity for the new faculty members to interact with one another and form connections. This networking within the teaching community will strengthen their support system throughout the school year.
The Webster Parish school district will welcome a total of 37 new teachers this academic session. While some of them bring prior teaching experience from other parishes, the majority will be stepping into their classrooms for the first time. At Glenbrook School, four fresh faces join the faculty, with most of them boasting prior teaching experience, promising a mix of fresh perspectives and seasoned insights.
Public school students across Webster Parish will return to school on August 10. However, Glenbrook School will start slightly earlier. On August 9, they will have a half-day dedicated to registration and the opportunity to meet their new teachers. The following day, August 10, marks the official start of their academic journey at Glenbrook School, where they will dive into a full day of learning and discovery.
The Webster Parish school district and Glenbrook School are gearing up to ensure a successful and fulfilling academic year for all students, with the enthusiastic support of their new teaching staff. As the first day of school approaches, the collective hope is for a year filled with growth, learning, and endless possibilities.
