Two Webster Parish residents are facing multiple drug charges after a traffic stop led to the discovery of a large quantity of illegal narcotics, according to Sheriff Jason Parker.
Jaquan Lee, 29, of Sarepta, and Qued Jinayl Frankiea Kennedy, 31, of Cullen, were arrested last week on Hwy 615 near Shongaloo.
The stop, conducted around 6:30 PM by a Webster Parish Sheriff’s deputy, reportedly began with the detection of a marijuana odor inside the vehicle. A Minden Police officer and his K9 partner, Tigo, were called to assist. According to the incident report, Tigo alerted to the presence of narcotics.
During a search, deputies discovered an unopened postal box in the vehicle. After securing a search warrant, they reportedly found several hundred grams of natural marijuana packaged in plastic inside the box.
Both men are charged with possession of Schedule I CDS (marijuana) with intent to distribute and possession of a controlled dangerous substance in the presence of a minor.
Kennedy, identified as the driver, also faces two traffic violations. The pair were booked into Bayou Dorcheat Correctional Center, and no bond has been set.
All subjects are considered innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
