Funeral services for Orville “Gil” Gildon will be held Thursday, August 30, 2018 at 10 a.m. at Rose-Neath Funeral Home Chapel in Minden, Louisiana with Rev. Tim Everett officiating. Interment will follow at Hurricane Cemetery in Athens, Louisiana. The family will receive friends from 5 until 8 p.m. Wednesday, August 29, 2018 at Rose-Neath Funeral Home in Minden.
Gil was born June 22, 1944 in Bradley, Arkansas and entered into rest August 27, 2018 in Shreveport, Louisiana. He served his country in the United States Army and was a retired farmer.
He was preceded I death by his sister; Margie O’Neal and brother; James Aaron Gildon.
He is survived by his wife; Fran Gildon of Evergreen son; John W. Gildon and wife Wenonah Faye of Bradley, Arkansas, daughter; Rebecca Cox and husband Derrick of Evergreen, sisters; Joanna Canterbury of Springhill and Dinah Powell of Dublin, Georgia, brothers; Bennie M. Gildon of Dublin, Georgia and John Thomas Gildon of Plain Dealing, ten grandchildren, fifteen great-grandchildren, and Godfather to every member of the Juan and Clara Quintana family.
