Otis “Odie” Ellis Sykes Jr.

Otis “Odie” Ellis Sykes Jr., age 66, born October 10, 1955, in Bossier City Louisiana, and passed away December 18, 2021, in Fort Worth Texas. He was born to Otis Ellis Sykes Sr. and Sally Marie McPherson Pearce Sykes. In 1973, he graduated from Minden High School in Minden, Louisiana. Growing up he was a Barksdale Brat. Odie wanted to serve his country in the military, but an accident in his early years kept his dream from coming true. He and his family moved to Texas in 1984. Odie retired from Blue Cross Blue Shield as a data process manager after 30 years. He enjoyed eating, laughing, spending time with his family and was a collector’s collector. Odie is survived by his loving wife of 47 years, Ann Sykes; son, Sean Kirk Sykes and his wife Rebekah of Wisconsin and granddaughter, Molly Sykes. He is preceded in death by his parents.
