Amie Poladian, the current executive director of Springhill Main Street, has been selected as the new executive director of the Webster Parish Convention and Visitors Commission. She will assume her new role on July 1, 2025.
The decision was made during the commission’s regular meeting, held Tuesday, May 21. All board members were present except Rachel Miller. All agenda items, including the hiring of Poladian, were approved unanimously following an executive session.
Poladian has served as Executive Director for the City of Springhill since 2023, where she has led downtown business development initiatives and secured partnerships with local businesses, government agencies, and nonprofits. Her efforts in historic preservation and community engagement have contributed to the city’s economic growth. Under her leadership, Springhill Main Street was named Business of the Year in 2023 by the Springhill-North Webster Chamber of Commerce.
During her tenure, Poladian managed grant proposals, mentored teams, and developed strategic plans to attract and retain businesses in line with Springhill’s goals.
Also during Tuesday’s meeting, the board approved an advertising grant of $2,000 for A Taste of Market to be held June 7, 2025, and a similar grant for the upcoming Miss Louisiana Volunteer Pageant, which will take place for the first time at the Minden Civic Center this fall.
Other discussions included the hiring of Brianna Savoy of Springhill as a social media manager on a 3-month trial basis and contracting with Beth Ann Falstad as a grant writer to help secure funding for the Miller Quarters Park project, which requires approximately $12 million to complete.
Board members also discussed whether to place the next kayak launch at Doerge Landing or Sike’s Ferry, with Doerge Landing emerging as the likely first site. Fallen tree removal in the area was also noted as a necessary step.
The Old City Hall building in Springhill is being considered as a potential site for the parish’s north-end tourism office. The board agreed to have the building inspected before making any further decisions.
The next meeting is scheduled for July 16, 2025, at 8:30 AM at the Greater Minden Chamber of Commerce, 110 Sibley Road.
