Prep baseball playoffs set to start today

Minden will open the playoffs at 5 p.m. today as the 14th-seeded Crimson Tide will play host to 19th-seed Pearl River.

The Crimson Tide stands at 15-13 on the sason while Pearl River is 16-14.

North Webster, which won five of its last secen games, barely missed out opening postseason play at home. 

The Knights drew the 16th seed in Class 3A and will play at 16th-seed Brusly at 6 p.m. today.

The Knights enter the showdown with a record of 20-13 while Brusly is 9-22.

In Class 2A, Lakeside will open the playoffs at home as the 12th-seeded Warriors will host 21st-seeded Beekman Charter at 6 p.m. today.

The Warriors are 23-8 on the season while Beekman Charter is 15-7.

Doyline will also start postseason play at home as the 10th-seeded Panthers will play host to 23rd-seeded Castor in the Class B playoffs at 5 p.m. on Wednesday.

The Panthers will head into the contest at 23-8 on the season.
