A Minden man wanted for a stabbing his girlfriend was arrested by Minden Police Monday. Around 10 a.m., Kenneth Washington, 26, of North Middle Landing in Minden was arrested on three active warrants: aggravated battery, failure to register as a sex offender, and two counts of false imprisonment while armed with a dangerous weapon.

Washington allegedly stabbed his girlfriend on the head three times inside of her apartment, according to police reports. Following the alleged battery, Washington held the victim and her 10-year-old son captive in a bedroom for roughly two hours, refusing to let them leave, pleace a phone call, or seek help for medical treatment.

While investigating the incident, police discovered that Washington is a registered sex offender using an address inside the city limits of Minden, which he failed to register with the Minden Police Department, as required by law.

Once warrants were issued, the Minden Police Department, with assistance from the Webster Parish Sheriff’s Office, located Washington at his father’s residence in Dubberly. Washington was taken into custody without incident, and transported to the Minden Police Department to be booked. He was then later transported to Bayou Dorcheat Correctional Center.
