Springhill to hold clean-up Apr. 28 – May 7

SPRINGHILL — Springhill’s Spring Clean-up will be held April 28 – May 7, the City Council announced Monday during its regular monthly meeting.

Springhill Police Chief Will Lynd asked that safety measures be taken in regards to any burning, leading the Council to set a time limit from Mon-Fri between the hours of 6 a.m. – 10 p.m.

Also, burning is limited to yard refuse — such as grass clippings, bushes, shrubs, and limbs – no tires, white goods, or household items of any kind are to be burned during this time.

In addition to the Spring Clean-up, the Council:

Authorized the Mayor to proceed with the LED lighting project.

Considered donating the fire dept. building to the Springhill Fire Dept.

Introduced an ordinance entitled “Parking Restrictions for 1st Street NE”

Considered and approved, a beer license for Dollar General.

Considered and approved payment of the bills for March 2018 in the amount of $77,655.65.
