Springhill United Methodist Church, 104 4th Street N. W. in Springhill, Louisiana, is pleased to welcome The Rev. Dr. Jonathan King as their new minister.
King grew up in Shreveport attending Morningside UMC and Summer Grove UMC. He received his Bachelor of Arts in Religion from Centenary College and his Master of Divinity along with his Doctor of Ministry at Garrett-Evangelical Theological Seminary in Evanston, Illinois.
While in Illinois, King met his wife, Jacqueline. They have a six year old daughter, Joanna.
Jonathan, as he is referred to, has begun to make this area his own as he is walking the streets of Springhill and introducing himself to all. He, also,has joined the Lions Club, the Rotary Club and is the new Chaplain of the Springhill Fire Department.
On August 12, at the 10:55 Morning Service, King invites students, teachers, administrators, all to come to the Springhill United Methodist Church for the “Blessing of the Backpacks.”
Attendees may bring backpacks, briefcases, and any other item that transports belongings to school to be blessed as we begin a new school year.
You are invited to come and visit with the congregation and hear Pastor Jonathan as he preaches the gospel and goes about God’s work!
