Retired Webster Parish Office of Homeland Security and Emergency Preparedness Director John Stanley was given a plaque of appreciation by the Webster Parish Police Jury in recognition for his 12 years of service to Webster Parish. Under Stanley, the office underwent many changes, both state and federal, following Hurricanes Katrina and Rita. Most recently, he kept up with the ever-changing pace of Camp Minden and the destruction of the millions of pounds of M6 propellant currently underway. Police Jury President Jim Bonsall presented the plaque. Stanley retired at the end of May.
