Wednesday blaze rages through Hall Street home

Minden Fire Department firefighters work to extinguish a blaze that ripped through Shirley James’ home in the 100 block of Hall Street around 7:30 p.m. Wednesday. James, who was home at the time, said she was taking a nap and the ‘popping’ and smell of the fire, which was in the rear of the home, woke her up. Fire Chief Kip Mourad said the cause of the fire remains unknown and no injuries were reported.
