Temporary street closure planned for charity benefit in Minden

by Amber McDown

A temporary street closure is scheduled for a charity benefit in Minden to support Webster Parish Deputy Sheriff Sergeant Aaron Barnes, who was seriously injured in an accident earlier this year.

The closure will be in effect from 3 PM until 10 PM on May 4, 2024, and will impact Pearl Street between Green Street and Main Street, as well as the Civic Center parking lot located between Main Street and Broadway.

Sergeant Barnes was injured on January 30 while directing traffic north of Dixie Inn. The charity benefit aims to raise funds to support his recovery.

Local authorities advise residents to plan alternative routes during the closure and to expect delays in the area.

For more information about the charity benefit or to make a donation, please contact the Minden Sheriff’s Office.
