Funeral services for Mrs. Vernell P. Autry Lee will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday, June 8, 2016 at the 14th District Building in Minden. Burial will follow at Mt. Olive No. 1 Baptist Church in Homer.

Vernell was born to the late Henry and Sadie Mae Parker on Oct. 24, 1945 in Ada Taylor. She was the ninth of 10 children. Vernell was preceded in death by her parents, Henry and Sadie Parker; husband Walter Joe Autry; son Walter Ray Autry; daughter Wilma Tracy Autry; five sisters and two brothers.

She leaves to cherish her memories: two daughters, Daphene (Wendell) Jackson of Doyline; Veronica (Macharia) Howell of Monroe; two sons, Colencer Autry and Joseph Parker both of Minden; 10 grandchildren, seven great-grandchildren, one sister Dorothy M. Chambers of Suitland, Maryland, one brother Bobby (Beverly) Parker of Minden; sister-in-law Bernice Brown of Covenion; brother-in-law James Autry of Shreveport, and a host of nieces, nephews and other relatives and friends.
