Twelve Webster Parish students competed in the GUMBO Games North competition in Shreveport April 13. GUMBO, which stands for “games uniting mind and body,” is a track and field competition for physically and visually disabled students ages 5 and up. With the help of four coaches, Team Webster competed in dozens of events split by age group and disability type. Each competitor placed at least second in at least one event.
Jaidyn Hebert was a multi-event competitor. He placed second in the softball throw and turbo javelin and third in the 20m race.
