The Webster Parish School Board recognized outstanding students, educators, and support staff across the parish during a meeting held Tuesday, April 14, as the 2025-26 school year approaches its close.
Awards were presented for Teacher of the Year, Student of the Year, and Support Person of the Year at schools throughout the parish. Student of the Year honors are awarded at the 5th, 8th, and 12th grade levels.
At Brown Upper Elementary, Nakeya Markray was named Teacher of the Year, Jude Cox was recognized as Student of the Year, and Tia Davis was honored as Support Person of the Year. Browning Elementary recognized Jennifer Brooks as Teacher of the Year and Shontralica Hawkins as Support Person of the Year.


Central Elementary honored Stephanie Pitman as Teacher of the Year, Owen Waggoner as Student of the Year, and Molly Griffith as Support Person of the Year.

At Doyline School, Faith McIver was named Elementary Teacher of the Year, Sterling Bailey was named Middle School Teacher of the Year, and Don Watson was named High School Teacher of the Year. Students of the Year included Drake Sparish at the elementary level, Carlie Rogers at the middle school level, and Shandavion Martin at the high school level. Bobby Anderson was recognized as Support Person of the Year.

Jones Elementary honored Leontyne Jones as Teacher of the Year and Heather Basinger as Support Person of the Year.

At Lakeside Junior/Senior High, Emily Maness was named Middle School Teacher of the Year and Anna Gray was named High School Teacher of the Year. MacKenzie Snider was recognized as Middle School Student of the Year, Brock Case as High School Student of the Year, and Earnest Jones as Support Person of the Year.

Minden High School recognized Jarmen Hill as Teacher of the Year, Topher Wilson as Student of the Year, and Dontavious Shyne as Support Person of the Year.

Phillips Elementary named Stephanie Joslin as Teacher of the Year and Tammy Guice as Support Person of the Year.

Richardson Elementary honored Kelcey Elmendorf as Teacher of the Year, Caylee Harris as Student of the Year, and Melanie Barnett as Support Person of the Year.

North Webster Lower Elementary recognized Elizabeth Holloway as Teacher of the Year and Victoria Hanson as Support Person of the Year.

North Webster Upper Elementary honored Raven Berry as Teacher of the Year, Kyler Gilbert as Student of the Year, and Robin Wynne as Support Person of the Year.

North Webster Junior High named Samantha Lewis as Teacher of the Year, Annabeth Thomas as Student of the Year, and April Ingle as Support Person of the Year.

North Webster High School recognized William McGee as Teacher of the Year, Hudson Smith as Student of the Year, and Antoinous Jenkins as Support Person of the Year.

Webster Junior High honored Tamika Harrison as Teacher of the Year, Taylor Slaton as Student of the Year, and Mary Cornelious as Support Person of the Year.

Parish-wide honorees were also announced. Stephanie Joslin was named Elementary Teacher of the Year, Tamika Harrison was named Middle School Teacher of the Year, and Anna Gray was named High School Teacher of the Year.

Owen Waggoner was recognized as the parish’s 5th-grade Student of the Year, Taylor Slaton as 8th-grade Student of the Year, and Topher Wilson as 12th-grade Student of the Year. Earnest Jones was named parish-wide Support Person of the Year.


Principal of the Year honors were awarded to Tina Benjamin at the elementary level, Gwenzetta Bradford at the middle school level, and John Lyons at the high school level.

The board also recognized winners of the parish science fair. In biology, first place went to A’Riyah Mallory and Sydney Johnston, followed by Kinlee Hayden and Dezira Givens in second place. In chemistry, JahMazin Evans placed first, and Baleigh Wallace placed second.
Physics winners included Lanee Demmon in first place, Alasia Jacob in second place, and Keith Bobbitt in third place. In earth and space science, Allen Strong earned first place, Kaydence Smith second place, and Brantley Bohl third place.

Engineering winners included Jordan Thomas in first place, Israel Allen-McDaniel in second place, and Bryxtin Rasberry in third place.


Students from Lakeside High School and North Webster High School were also recognized for their achievements in Educators Rising competitions at the state level.
From Lakeside High School, Madelyn Hannah and Addi Wiggins each earned first place in Interactive Bulletin Board Elementary. Falon McGlothren placed first in Educators Rising Moment junior varsity. Baylee Irby and Allie Swayze each placed third in Project Visualize varsity, and Dolly Robers placed fourth in Educators Rising Moment varsity.


From North Webster High School, Ivion Harris placed sixth in Creative Lecture and was named the 2025-26 Historian for Louisiana Educators Rising. Mahailey Nail placed ninth in Children’s Literature K-3, and Madalynn Craighead also competed in the Children’s Literature K-3 category.

School officials congratulated all honorees for their achievements.
