Webster Parish Schools has launched a new districtwide Fine Arts Initiative aimed at fostering creativity, developing skills, and highlighting student talent in music, theater, and visual arts.
The initiative includes several new components. The Webster Stage Company will serve as a platform to showcase student work in music, theater, and visual arts. A new curriculum in elementary schools will introduce students to visual arts and music fundamentals, including rhythm, melody, design, color, and storytelling. Additionally, the district is expanding its Talented Program to include new offerings in music and theater. Students who qualify through an evaluation process will receive specialized instruction.
The district says the program supports the development of creativity, confidence, and communication skills while also enhancing academic performance through arts integration.
Families are encouraged to support the effort by attending performances, volunteering behind the scenes, and encouraging student participation.
