We’re Here collecting hygiene products for nursing homes

by Amber McDown

We’re Here, a local non-profit organization, is collecting personal hygiene products to be distributed to residents of area nursing homes.

The mission of We’re Here is to teach youth the life skills necessary to become powerful assets to society and community leaders. They strive to not only help people who are experiencing hardships but also to inspire a desire to help others and “pay it forward.”

For the current campaign, they are requesting donations of shampoos and conditioners, soaps and shower gels, combs and brushes, lotions, and deodorants as well as monetary donations. All items will be given to the residents of local nursing homes.

Items can be dropped off in the collection boxes located at several locations: Say Grace, b1 Bank, Citizens Bank, and Security Finance through February 3. We’re Here encourages you to fill the box!

If you would like to make a monetary donation or if you have questions, call Patrick White at (318) 517-5670 or email him at [email protected]. The website is www.wereherewecare.com/
