
The Minden Alumnae Chapter of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Inc. presented its 55th annual Jabberwock at the Minden Civic Center Saturday, March 26.
Jabberwock means a variety of talents and activities comprising an evening of entertainment. The entertainment included the a rendition of the poem “I Am Somebody by Little Miss London Wright and the energetic, exciting Epsilon Rho Chapter of Phi Delta Kappa Xinos and Kudos praise, mime, and step teams.

The main event of the evening was the presentation and crowning of Little Miss Jabberwock and Court. Little Miss Jabberwock 2016 is Brelyn Lorene Winzer-Jackson, daughter of Stephanie Winzer and Andre Jackson of Minden; first runner-up is Durriyah “Charli” Flournoy, daughter of Damion and Denise Flournoy of Haughton. Second runner-up is London Amire Wright, daughter of Chanda Harrell of Ruston and third runner-up is, daughter of LaToya Beavers and Kevin Norton also of Minden.
The funds raised from the pageant are earmarked for scholarships and public service projects. The proceeds are also used to maintain Delta Sigma Theta’s Five Point Program THRUST -Educational Development, Economic Development, Physical and Mental Health, Political Awareness and Involvement, and International Awareness and Involvement. Minden Alumnae Chapter President, Linda Baker and members would like to thank the community for their support.
