Woman punches husband, arrested for assault

A woman who reportedly punched her estranged husband in the face is now facing charges of aggravated assault and domestic abuse battery.

The Webster Parish Sheriff’s Office arrested Jezeder Arnise Wheeler, 33, of the 100 block of Country Lane, Monday on the charges.

According to reports, the suspect called her estranged husband asking him to come to her residence. Deputies say the victim told her he did not want to come, and after she reportedly sent several text messages asking him to come, he agreed.

When he arrived, before he could get out of his vehicle, Wheeler reportedly punched him in the face, causing lacerations inside his mouth. Reports indicate he tried to back out of the driveway, but Wheeler then took a tire iron, jumped onto the hood of the vehicle and hit the windshield.

Deputies say Wheeler admitted to striking the victim.

She was placed under arrest and transported to Bayou Dorcheat Correctional Center.
