Louisiana Tech women’s basketball head coach Brooke Stoehrannounced the addition of four student-athletes to the Lady Techsters program during the early signing period Wednesday.
LA Tech added prep forwards Averi Aaron (San Antonio, Texas/Boerne HS), Isla Airey (Victoria, Australia/Caulfield School), and Jordan Marshall (Little Rock, Ark./Little Rock Central) along with combo guard Paris Bradley (Dallas, Texas/Hebron HS).
Aaron, a 6’1 San Antonio product, is a three-time All-State performer for Amy Ruede at Boerne High School with a combined 95-12 record over her high school career heading into her senior year.
“Averi is a competitor in every sense of the word. She has the versatility to handle the physicality in the paint as well as extend on the perimeter to shoot the 3 with range. Averi will bring a toughness to our locker room and fits very well into our group. She has played in big games for both coach Ruede at Boerne High School and Ray Caldwell with SA Finest. We are thrilled to welcome her to the Louisiana Tech family and look forward to having her in a Lady Techsters jersey.”
Aaron has earned All-District, San Antonio Express-News Super Team, was named last season’s District MVP, and was Co-District MVP during the 2021-22 season.
Aaron also has two state semifinal appearances and has garnered TGCA All-Star game MVP in 2023. She plays AAU for the San Antonio Finest and coach Ray Caldwell.
“What makes me want to go to LA Tech is the winning culture and background because I want to win more than anything,” Aaron said. “I also liked the campus atmosphere and thought I would fit in well with the demographic and school. Most importantly, I loved Brooke and the coaching staff. I thought they were really positive and comforting and ran a clean-cut program..”
She also throws the discus and shot put at Boerne, making the regional finals in 2022 and 23.
Aaron averaged 16.7 points and 9.2 rebounds per contest last season for Boerne.
Airey is a 6-4 forward and two-time championship winner out of Victoria, Australia, for coach Jamie Staib and Caulfield Grammar School.
“We are excited about adding Isla to the Lady Techsters family. She brings great length and size to add to our interior player group. It has been exciting to watch her growth and development as a young player, and believe she has a tremendous upside. Isla has the ability to finish with both hands and uses her size well in the paint. She gives us an added rim protector and will be a tremendous addition to our locker room.”
Airey also played volleyball for the U19 Australian development squad and the U18 Victorian team, earning bronze medals with both programs.
“I feel the coaching staff cares for me as a person and my style of play,” said Airey. “They have been welcoming and immensely helpful through the entire process and never rushing any decisions I’ve made. The players have been inviting and so kind.
Airey plays AAU for Sandringham Sabres and coach Hamish Ryan.
Marshall, a 6-0 forward from Little Rock, Ark., is a two-time All-State performer out of Little Rock, Ark. for coach Marlon Williams and Little Rock Central.
“Jordan is a versatile forward who can score facing the basket as well as play with her back to the basket. She is a tough defender with a high motor. Jordan can impact the game on the boards and will bring a relentless effort to our group. Jordan is a great teammate and fits well within our team. Jordan’s experience under coach Williams at LR Central and for Edward Durham and the Mavs Elite will benefit her well during her time in Ruston. We are excited to add Jordan to the Louisiana Tech and Lady Techsters family.”
Marshall is a member of the Little Rock Central’s 1,000-point club and earned All-Conference honors all three seasons.
Marshall has earned the Superintendent’s Honor Roll for the past two years.
“I chose LA Tech mainly for the coaching staff and how I would view myself fitting in the style of play,” said Marshall. “When I visited Ruston, I loved the hometown feel while also still having access to things I need. Ruston is also a growing community and cares greatly about their student-athletes.”
Marshall plays AAU for coach Edward Durham with the Mavs Elite GUAA.
Bradley is a 5-9 combo guard and three-time All-District performer out of Carrolton, Texas, for Hebron HS and coach Branch.
“Paris is a versatile combo guard who can impact both ends of the court. Her length and athleticism will allow her to disrupt defensively and create easy offense for our team. Paris is a three-level scorer and has the ability to create for others as well. She has played at a high level for coach Branch at Hebron High School and with Cy Fair Elite. She can play in transition and will be a great addition to our backcourt with her creativity and versatility. We are thrilled to welcome Paris to the Lady Techsters family and Louisiana Tech.”
Bradley is a member of Hebron’s 1,000-point club and was named to the TABC All-Region team in 2023.
Last season, she was also named the District Co-MVP.
Bradley is a member of the National Honor Society and has earned Academic All-District honors.
“I chose Louisiana Tech because I liked the homey feel of the place,” Bradley said. “I have a good bond with the coach, and I feel comfortable being with her away from home. On my last visit, I got to enjoy some time with the team, and I feel like I clicked really well.”
Bradley plays AAU for coach Earl Allen and the Cyfair Elite.
