QUOTABLES
Head coach Brooke Stoehr
I’m really proud of this group’s effort. That was a gritty defensive effort on the road in a tough environment. We challenged our post players at halftime, and they had a tremendous response. They forced difficult catches and did not allow their bigs to get their spots like they did in the first half. Our perimeter did a great job on #24 all night and was able to keep her off the free throw line. Jianna really set the tone on her early and whoever got switched onto her made catches and looks difficult. We got great contributions from our bench tognight at some critical moments. Joy and Isla gave us some crucial minutes and had some big plays for our group. Everyone contributed and that is what it takes to win on the road in league play.
Moving on to FIU
We have to turn the page quickly and be ready to handle a fast-paced offense and aggressive defense from FIU. We will have to be as good or better defensively on Saturday to stop two of the best scorers in the league in Collins and Atkins. It is a quick turnaround and our group will be ready for this challenge.
