WPSO goes undercover, busts alleged meth dealers

A year-long undercover narcotics operation by the Webster Parish Sheriff’s Office has yielded results as numerous alleged methamphetamine distributors have been arrested in recent months due to this effort.

A report from Lieutenant Shawn Baker with the Webster Parish Narcotics Division said agents were able to make many undercover meth purchases from several targets. With the assistance of the Louisiana State Police, Louisiana State Probation and Parole, Minden Police Department, and Springhill Police Department, Baker and WPSO agents Bobby Igo and Joel Thomas began to serve warrants and arrest the targets.

A full list of reported arrests stemming from this operation is as follows:

n Jim “Frito” Florey: Arrested June 13, 50 years old, from Taylor, Arkansas, charged with distribution of Schedule II meth, bond set at $100,000

n Alex Lawson: Arrested July 27, 25 years old, of Timothy Church Road in Springhill, charged with distribution of Schedule II meth, bond set at $100,000

n David Montgomery: Arrested July 27, 45 years old, of Horton Road in Sarepta, charged with two counts of distribution of Schedule II meth, no bond set

n Donna Brown: Arrested July 31, 39 years old, of Amy Lane in Minden, charged with possession of Schedule II hydrocodone with intent to distribute, no insurance, and no turn signal, bond set at $200,000

n Flora Hunt: Arrested August 13, 47 years old, of Highway 159 in Minden, charged with Distribution of Schedule II meth, possession of Schedule II meth with intent to distribute, and possession of drug paraphernalia

n Rankin Thomas: Arrested August 13, 36 years old, of West Union Street in Minden, charged with two counts of distribution of Schedule II meth, bond set at $100,000

n Melissa Keene: Arrested August 13, 38 years old, of Country Club Circle in Minden, charged with two counts of distribution of Schedule II meth, bond set at $20,000 per charge

n Shawna Lance: Arrested August 28, 28 years old, of Highway 371 in Minden, charged with two counts of distribution of Schedule II meth, possession of Schedule II meth, and possession of Schedule I marijuana. Bond set at $30,000 per distribution charge
