The Greater Minden Chamber hosted its first Chamber Connect networking event of 2026 on March 19 at Hers Bridal and Special Occasions, drawing a large crowd for an evening of business connections, food, and a long-awaited ribbon cutting.

The after-hours event featured tours of the recently renovated bridal shop, along with food and refreshments from Fat Guys Catering and 3 Little Bs Bakery. Crossroads Boutique also participated with an in-store pop-up.
As part of the event, the Chamber held a ribbon cutting ceremony for Hers Bridal, which recently celebrated its 50th anniversary. Despite owning the business for 11 years, owner Alicia Adams had not previously held a ribbon cutting.
Chamber President Stephanie Barnette said the business plays a key role in downtown Minden. “Hers Bridal and Alicia are staples in downtown Minden. We could not have what we have without their investment,” Barnette said.
Minden Mayor Nick Cox also praised the continued improvements to the store. “Everytime I come in here, they’ve pushed it to the next level,” Cox said. “She’s leaving her mark for the footprints of tomorrow.”
Adams spoke about the personal significance of the business and her plans for continued growth. “I think about my life and legacy, and Hers Bridal is going to be that,” Adams said. “We want to level up. There’s so many things we want to do.”
She also highlighted the expansion of the store’s men’s offerings through His Department, which currently provides tuxedo sales and rentals and continues to grow.
The Chamber Connect series is designed to provide local professionals opportunities to network and build relationships while highlighting member businesses in the community.
