After a spirited campaign season filled with wagging tails, friendly competition, and community support, the votes have been counted and Minden’s newest elected officials have officially been announced.
The City of Minden revealed the results of its second annual Pet Mayor Election, naming Scout Lee as the 2026 Minden Pet Mayor after receiving 390 votes.
The election also crowned Ridge as Chief of Pawlice with 386 votes and Raven Pearl as Fur Chief with 357 votes.
Five additional candidates earned seats on the 2026 Pet Council. They include Captain (Big CapCap), who received 339 votes; Baby G with 285 votes; Milo America Hammons with 228 votes; Clyde Greer with 176 votes; and Ellie Mae Logan with 130 votes.

While the election may have featured four-legged candidates, organizers said the real winners are the animals that will benefit from the funds raised through the campaign.
According to city officials, the Pet Mayor Election generated $19,515 through sponsorships, donations, candidate registration fees, and voting. The proceeds will support Minden Animal Control and efforts toward the new animal control facility for the city.
The Pet Mayor Election returned this year as part of Minden’s America 250 and Minden 190 anniversary celebration. The fundraiser combines community engagement with support for local animal welfare initiatives, allowing residents to cast votes for their favorite candidates through donations.
Under the election format, every $5 donation counted as one vote, encouraging pet owners, family members, friends, and animal lovers throughout the community to rally behind their favorite canine and feline contenders.
City officials thanked residents, sponsors, and participants for their support of the fundraiser and congratulated the newly elected pet officials.
The winning candidates are expected to be recognized during the Pet Mayor Collaring Ceremony as part of the anniversary celebration festivities in downtown Minden.
For the upcoming year, Minden’s most popular public officials may be the ones who greet constituents with wagging tails, wet noses, and plenty of personality.
