The Webster Parish Police Jury presented Pete Colvin with a plaque to commemorate his retirement and as a show of appreciation for his 28 years of service to the Jury. President of the Police Jury Jim Bonsall presented the plaque and shared a few words to let everyone present know how much of an impact Colvin made during his time there.
“This is in recognition for his service to the Webster Parish Police Jury. Pete worked for the Jury twice. From 1969 to 1978. He got a belly full of it and left for a little while, and came back from 2001 to 2020. 28 years of service.
Pete, we were just talking about you in our committee meeting. We have to hire someone to take your place, and when we started talking about all your job duties, there were a bunch of them.
Pete has helped me continuously through my time here. Going into a situation where everybody’s mad, and when they leave they’re all laughing together. That’s Pete’s talent. He has helped the Jury so much. We’re going to ‘replace’ him, but I don’t know anybody will ever be able to replace Pete.”
