Minden Press-Herald sees temporary change in production due to COVID-19

by Minden Press-Herald

Due to the preventative measures that our government has taken in response to the  COVID-19 pandemic, The Minden Press-Herald would like to take this opportunity to inform you of some temporary changes that we will be undergoing in the next few weeks.

From now through April 12, the Minden Press-Herald will be changing from a daily paper to a bi-weekly paper. Under this temporary change, print versions of the paper arriving in mailboxes and newsstands Tuesdays and Fridays. We will reassess this change on April 12 and will determine how we move forward based on the situation at that time.

While the print version will only come out twice a week, we will still be updating our website and Facebook page daily with local news, updates pertaining to COVID-19, as well as our regular content.

“This is not something that we want to do, but due to the dramatic changes taking place in the world in response to this pandemic, the Minden Press-Herald needs to make dramatic changes to address them,” said Josh Specht, Publisher of the Minden Press-Herald. “We want to protect our employees, their families, and the general public as we all navigate these unprecedented times.”

Specht added while the change in frequency is immediate, it is not permanent.

“I want to stress that this change is temporary, and we will re-evaluate our decision as soon as the situation changes,”

Our lobby is closed to the general public, but if you need to contact us, our phone lines are still open and we have people here to take your calls. If we happen to miss your call, just leave a voicemail and we will get back with you as soon as possible.

The phone number for the Press-Herald is 377-1866, and the website is www.press-herald.com.
