Minden votes yes on all alcohol propositions along with other election results

Nov. 16, Webster Parish voted on Louisiana’s Governor, Secretary of State, and State Senator of the 36th District. Minden and Springhill voted on five propositions regarding the sale of alcohol in their respective cities. The results are as follows.

John Bel Edwards (D) was voted to be Louisiana’s Governor with 774469 (51%) voting for John Bel Edwards (D) and 867449 (49%)voting for Eddie Rispone (R).

Kyle Ardoin (R) was voted to be Louisiana’s Secretary of State with 867449 (59%) voting for Kyle Ardoin (R) and 601102 (41%) voting for Gwen Collins-Greenup (D).

Robert Mills (R) was voted to be State Senator for the 36th District  with 22050 (56%) voting for Robert Mills (R) and 17209 (44%) voting for Ryan Gatti (R).

Proposition 1: Shall the sale of beverages of alcoholic content containing not more than six percent alcohol by volume be permitted by package only and not for consumption on the premises in the City of Minden/Springhill, State of Louisiana. Minden voted yes for Proposition 1 with 2892 (68%) voting yes and 1388 (32%) voting no. Springhill voted yes for Proposition 1 with 868 (61%) voting yes and 556 (39%) voting no.

Proposition 2: Shall the sale of beverages of alcoholic content containing not more than six percent alcohol by volume for consumption on the premises be permitted in the City of Minden/Springhill, State of Louisiana. Minden voted yes for Proposition 2 2886 (68%) voting yes and 1376 (32%) voting no. Springhill voted yes for Proposition 1 with 876 (62%) voting yes and 536 (38%) voting no.

Proposition 3: Shall the sale of beverage alcohol containing one-half of one percent by volume and above for consumption on the premises be permitted in the City of Minden/Springhill, State of Louisiana. Minden voted yes for Proposition 3 2894 (68%) voting yes and 1374 (32%) voting no. Springhill voted yes for Proposition 1 with 848 (60%) voting yes and 567 (40%) voting no.

Proposition 4: Shall the sale of beverages of alcoholic content containing one-half of one percent alcohol by volume and above by the package only and not for consumption on the premises be permitted in the City of Minden/Springhill, State of Louisiana. Minden voted yes for Proposition  4 2790 (66%) voting yes and 1443 (34%) voting no. Springhill voted yes for Proposition 1 with 824 (59%) voting yes and 568 (41%) voting no.

Proposition 5: Shall the sale of beverages of high and low alcoholic content be permitted only on the premises of restaurant establishments which have been issued and ‘R” permit as defined by law in the City of Minden/Springhill, State of Louisiana. Minden voted yes for Proposition 5 3155 (74%) voting yes and 1081 (26%) voting no. Springhill voted yes for Proposition 1 with 848 (60%) voting yes and 556 (40%) voting no.
