Two people were arrested February 12 after officers went to an abandoned property on Buck Street to serve an active arrest warrant and discovered suspected methamphetamine and drug paraphernalia inside, according to a Minden Police Department report.
Officers arrived at about 8:40 AM at a condemned trailer in the 700 block of Buck Street, identified as the last known residence of Shondreka McGlothen, 32. Police reported seeing multiple people moving inside the structure and announced their presence. The occupants were heard moving around and attempting to hide, the report states.
Upon entering the trailer, officers encountered Kenny Wayne France, 40, who was ordered to show his hands and walk forward. Police said France attempted to conceal his hands and was seen holding a glass pipe before discarding it in a corner area.
Officers then made contact with McGlothen in the same area where the pipe was discarded. Both individuals were detained. A search of the area reportedly uncovered a small black bag containing the glass pipe and approximately 1.03 grams of methamphetamine.
Police said neither McGlothen nor France claimed ownership of the methamphetamine or paraphernalia.
McGlothen was arrested on the active warrant, which stemmed from a charge under Louisiana’s unlawful telecommunications statute prohibiting the use of telephone or electronic devices to harass, threaten or communicate obscenities. She was also charged with possession of a Schedule II controlled dangerous substance and possession of drug paraphernalia.
France was charged with possession of a Schedule II controlled dangerous substance and possession of drug paraphernalia. Both were transported to the Minden Police Department for booking.
All subjects are considered innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
