Webster Parish Tax Assessor Morris Guin has announced a press conference to take place Tuesday, April 23 at 10 a.m. at the Tax Assessor’s Office.
“Upon assuming office in January 2013 Guin has established as his most important goals increasing the Assessor’s Office operating efficiency, reducing operating expenses, improving services and reducing property taxes dedicated to operating the Assessor’s Office,” the announcement read.
“Beginning in 2014, Guin began trimming the Assessor’s Office budget and reducing property taxes dedicated to the Assessor’s Office. In 2014, 2015 and 2017 he reduced Webster Parish property taxes dedicated to Webster Parish Assessor’s Office operations by $500,000 each year for a total reduction of $1.5 million and passed the tax savings on to Webster Parish property owners.”
The announcement for next Tuesday’s event points to a similar declaration. “On Tuesday, April 23, 2019 at 10 a.m., Guin will announce the implementation of another historic, unprecedented initiative to financially benefit Webster Parish property owners,” the announcement read.
The Webster Parish Tax Assessor’s Office is located at 103 South Monroe St. in Minden. The public is invited to attend.
