An alleged major drug dealer is in custody after a traffic stop in Caddo Parish resulted in the seizure of a large quantity of narcotics, authorities said.
Tymedrick Jones was arrested around 2 AM Thursday following a stop that concluded a joint investigation by the Webster Parish Sheriff’s Office Narcotics Unit, the DEA Task Force and Louisiana State Police. Task force agents had identified Jones as a large-scale distributor of illegal drugs in the Cullen and Springhill area.
The stop led to the recovery of approximately 5,100 grams (11.3 pounds) of methamphetamines, 1,100 grams (2.4 pounds) of cocaine, 2,688 grams (six pounds) of synthetic marijuana and 1,344 grams (three pounds) of natural marijuana, investigators said. Several thousand dollars in cash also was seized.

“This was a large amount of drugs headed for the streets of our parish that are now in our possession,” Sheriff Jason Parker said. “It’s a big job and it’s difficult sometimes, but we’re determined to keep drugs out of our parish. Our narcotics unit, working alongside the task force, is performing a great service.”
Jones is expected to face multiple charges related to drug trafficking and intent to distribute. Additional charges could be filed as the investigation continues, officials said.
The DEA Task Force includes agents from the Webster and Caddo Parish sheriff’s offices, the Bossier City and Shreveport police departments and the Louisiana National Guard Counter-Drug Program.
