One arrested on drug charge

Jackie HickeyA questionable driving decision landed a vehicle in a dangerous position and its driver in jail on drug charges.

Jackie Hickey, 60, of the 1400 block of Fincher Road, was arrested by Minden Police for possession of CDS Sch. III Hydrododone and reckless operation of a motor vehicle.
Chief Steve Cropper said Hickey told Ofc. Ben Allen and Off. Ben Gray she was attempting to park in the lot of a local pharmacy.

"The parking lot of the pharmacy faces Fincher Road and there is an embankment there," Cropper said. "She ran over the curb and the little cliff and her car was just balanced on the edge."

Officers reportedly asked Hickey to explain how her vehicle got to that point.

"She indicated she was trying to pull into a parking spot ... and then she didn't know what happened after that," the chief said. "The officers asked if she minded them searching her vehicle and she agreed to the search."

Inside Hickey's purse, officers discovered Hydrocodone tablets that were not in a prescription bottle.

Hickey was booked at the Minden Police Department and transported to Bayou Dorcheat Correctional Center.
